BREAKING: Congratulations to Cambodia on Being Elected to the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage for the 2026–2030 Mandate
(UNESCO): During the 11th Session of the States Parties to the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, currently taking place at the UNESCO Headquarters from June 17–18, 2026, with the participation of 185 State Parties, Cambodia was elected by the assembly to become a member of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage for the 2026–2030 mandate.
The delegation representing the Royal Government of Cambodia at this session is led by Her Excellency Doctor Academician Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and Chairperson of the Cambodian National Commission for UNESCO. The delegation also includes H.E. Long Kosal, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Cambodia to UNESCO, along with an inter-ministerial working group from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and the Cambodian National Commission for UNESCO.
