Preserving Cultural Arts and National Identity is the Duty of Every Khmer Individual; It Is a Task That Must Be Done Attentively and Regularly, and Must Be Passed On to Future Generations
Speaking on the occasion of the closing of the Youth Forum in Cultural Protection under the theme “Together to Promote Cultural Arts” on the evening of March 30, 2026, Her Excellency Academician Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, stated that preserving cultural arts and national identity is the duty of every Khmer individual, and it is a task that must be done attentively and regularly, as well as passed on to future generations. Her Excellency also expressed her appreciation and high valuation of the key role of the youth as producers, entertainment content creators, and artists—both within and outside the formal system—who have actively participated within the framework of ministries/institutions and their own personal capacities. Their support and significant contributions help preserve the magnificent cultural arts left behind by our ancestors and play a role in promoting this noble national cultural art on national and international stages; specifically, through this promotion, it has become a bridge leading Cambodia to the world.

On that occasion, Her Excellency Academician also had the honor of presenting certificates of appreciation to sponsors, guest speakers, artists, social media content creators, and the relevant working groups.
It should be noted that the Youth Forum in Cultural Protection under the theme “Together to Promote Cultural Arts” was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and the Department of Cultural, Religious, and Historical Movement Promotion of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia. The purpose was to create a closer collaborative relationship between the Ministry and the private sector, especially artists and entertainment content creators, to cultivate the spirit of loving, preserving, and participating in disseminating [culture] even more widely with accuracy and correctness, maintaining the standards of cultural art forms, traditional clothing, and the dignity of our nation.
